TE Now is more specific than the traditional TE transaction in that it focuses on the viewed record rather than the transaction data line.
An automatic way to view who else is looking at things that you are interested in on the PNC. When you quiz PNC, TE Now forms a simultaneous operation, identifying similar transactions generated within your own Force or organisation. It enquires locally (based on the transaction logs of NDI’s Gateway) and therefore has no impact on NPIA systems and consequently no increase in transaction count or exchanges.
For Vehicle, Driver Licence and Nominal transactions the database is searched at the point of record presentation to the user and an indication given (by means of a button) that the record has been viewed recently (time span configurable) by other users. This is useful in an operational environment as an indication that the item of interest today, has also been of interest in the recent past, to others.
At the click of a button the user will be presented with a list of the dates and times the record was viewed (within the configured time span). This, together with the enquirer name, may enable a user to perceive a pattern and/or follow up their enquiry with the other users recorded.
TE Now is a valuable adjunct to operational policing and may be enabled for the whole organisation or specific users only.
