Expand your PNC Access Capacity
The original STandard InterFace (STIF) was defined by PNC as a protocol that worked over X.25, which delivered PNC information to a local system that displayed the data.
PNC decided that rather than develop a protocol just for STIF they would combine the facilities of both it and the DCT protocol into one. This new protocol is referred to as the STIF Replacement Gateway, or SRG. Besides being the new standard for STIF systems working over CJX, it will also eventually replace the DCT access to PNC.
Key Benefits:
- The next step from DCT access, with up to 40,000 sessions
- XML Interface for simpler application development, moving you towards the future of PNC integration technology.
- Fully integrated with NDI’s browser access presentations. Allows concurrent usage with the older DCT gateways.
Use your SRG to introduce NDI's UniForm Mobile Data Framework
- No more running out of PNC sessions. The SRG allows up to 40,000 connections, making it ideal for expansion of PNC facilities into your force. Expand your PNC usage to more desktop users, to more mobile users, and integrate with more of your applications.
- XML access for applications takes away the problems of PNC screen scraping. The SRG has an XML module that allows the application to obtain a set of details from the PNC.
- Applications using XML are far less prone to effects of PNC screen changes - let the NDI software take the strain.
- No more problems with prints stuck at PNC. The SRG always retrieves the prints and delivers them wherever you want - to the desktop user, to a network printer, or converted to a PDF and sent as an e-mail.
- Multiple SRG gateways provide resilience against any one failing, all controlled from a central Enterprise server (itself with hot standby if required).
- Failure of a gateway doesn’t mean that prints can’t be done - SRG allows users to print from any gateway, a great improvement over the DCT gateway.
- Introduce SRG at your own pace, as it’s fully compatible with your existing DCT gateways. Run them side-by-side and get the benefits of SRG from day one.
SRG lets you easily control and keep track of who accesses the PNC in your force.
Enable 40,000 Maximum Sessions with SRG
- Terminal identities do not have to be arranged with PNC, other than printer identities.
- Users can logon to PNC multiple times with the same user ID.
- At any one time there can be 2,000 terminal sessions running through one gateway, not counting printing.
- Printing supported through multiple gateways, even if a gateway fails.
- No print queues get stuck, so no more #RP.
- PNC logon controls still allow HTE audit tracking.
- Multiple copies of prints are available.
- Users are entered into groups, to control their transaction access.
- Local PNC user administration and IT administration separated for security.
- All HTE Web display styles still available, as per DCT displays.
- One common HTE Web service to access SRG or DCT gateways concurrently.
- Data sent to PNC, or received from PNC, use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.
- There are no in-bound PNC calls through the firewall. All calls are outbound, even for prints.
- Message-pair timing included in log for response analysis.
- As well as XML, API input/output is available for applications.
