NDI Technologies Join Forces With Panasonic

Jul 14th, 2009

Panasonic Computer Products Europe (PCPE), the manufacturer of Panasonic Toughbook mobile computers, and NDI Technologies Ltd, a leading provider of Mobile Data and PNC (Police National Computer) solutions, have come together to offer NDI’s Mobile Data application, UniForm®, on the Panasonic Toughbook ruggedised computers for the Law Enforcement sector in the UK.

The Panasonic Toughbook adds another significant component to the ever evolving Mobile Data technology solution sought by Police Forces, providing a multitude of benefits to the end user. With the notebooks, officers are able to use the UniForm application to carry out tasks which they would normally have to do on their desktop computers back at the Police Station.

UniForm gives front line officers integrated mobile access directly into the PNC, Voters (QAS), Local Intelligence (including photographs) and many other “backend” systems, and can automatically integrate these systems’ data into many business processes. UniForm offers police officers access to crucial operational information and can be used in a multitude of common police situations like Stop/Search, Crime Recording, Local Intelligence, Traffic Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN), Penalty Notices for Disorder (PND), Collision & Accident Reports, and HO/RT1.

By using UniForm on the Toughbook, officers are able to do all of these tasks whilst on the beat, which undoubtedly offers additional benefits including savings in time and resources. Offering a high quality ruggedised design, and de-mounting capability, the Toughbook can either be used by officers from within the vehicle whilst mounted on a docking station or removed with ease to be taken on to premises where incidents have occurred.

“Combining the power of our UniForm Mobile Data software application suite with a Law Enforcement technology leader like Panasonic makes great sense for all Law Enforcement agencies across the UK,” added Nigel Lidster, Business Development Manager of NDI Technologies. “Panasonic Toughbooks allows the user to have greater flexibility with respect to completion of business processes away from traditional office based locations. Adding this powerful UniForm application capability to the Toughbook provides even greater justification to switch to mobile data solutions.”
